Professional
Duct
Cleaning
An
Overview
|
Step ONE: Personal
On-Site Consultation
|
When we arrive at
your home we will
introduce ourselves
and answer any
immediate questions
you may have about
our cleaning
process, our
pricing, or how long
it will take. After
this, I will ask the
home owner to give
us a short tour of
their home including
the main floor,
upstairs( if
applicable) and the
basement( if
applicable).
I will
advise
the
homeowner
if they
have any
pets
they may
want to
put them
in the
backyard,
or in
the
laundry
room if
they
have one
because
the
registers
will be
removed
during
the
cleaning
process
and we
don’t
want
them
going
into the
ducts
while we
are
cleaning. |
|
 |
|
|
Step TWO: Initial
Hook-up
We
then
will
connect
our
vacuum
hose to
the
supply
side of
your
system
and turn
on our
giant
vacuum.
This
will put
your
entire
HVAC
system
under
negative
pressure
and also be
the
collection
point
for all
the dirt
and
debris
in your
HVAC
system.
|
|
 |
| |
|
Step THREE:
High-Pressure Cleaning
|
Next, we will air
wash ( or hand clean
with a degreaser and
brush if necessary)
your supply vent
covers and register
openings by using
185 psi of
compressed air from
our truck mounted
air compressor.
|
|

|
Step FOUR: Supply
Line Cleaning
|
We
will then blast down
thru your openings
with our flexible
rods which will
deliver the 185 psi
of air to our
cleaning tools
(commonly referred
to as whips and
brushes) to clean
each branch
individually,
working our way back
towards the main
supply line.
Next, we will go
into the basement
(or crawl space if
applicable) and
drill 1” holes in
strategic places
thru out the duct
work, and insert our
whips and brushes
into these holes,
pushing the debris
even further back
into the main supply
line.
Next, we will brush
and whip the main
supply trunk, this
is the large
rectangular duct
that usually runs
down the middle of
your basement,
pushing all the dust
and debris back to
the collection
point.
The debris is
then carried out to the
trailer via the
large vacuum hose. |
|

 |
| |
Step FIVE: Return Side
Cleaning
|
Next, we will repeat the same
process on the
return side of the
system.

Step SIX: Re-Sealing
The System
Next, we will repeat
the process on the
return side of the
system. This is
where we find most
of the dirt. |
|
 |
|
Step SEVEN: Sanitizing
And Deodorizing
|
Next, if your job
includes it, we will
sanitize the entire
system with a
chemical called
Envirocon to
kill any mold,
mildew or bacteria
that maybe in your
duct work.
Envirocon is an
EPA registered
general sanitizer
that is not harmful
to humans or pets
and is commonly used
in nursing homes,
schools, and
hospitals. |
|
 |
| |
Step EIGHT: Dryer Vent
Cleaning
|
Next, if your job
includes it, we
clean out your dryer
vent with a similar
process. Dryer vents
that are not
regularly cleaned
out are a fire
hazard and will also
affect the
performance of your
dryer.
Uncleaned dryer
vents will
not function
properly or last as
long as it should.
This option is
always highly
recommended and only
takes about 15-20
minutes to do. |
|
 |
| |
Step NINE: Clean-Up
|
Lastly, we will
clean up any mess
that the cleaning
may have caused,
gather up our hoses
and tools, and move
any furniture back
if applicable. |
